Avoid taking sugar containing sticky foods or snacks, during the nights.
Eat healthy foods which are fibrous and free of sugar (like Vegetables and Fruits).
Stop chewing tobacco, betel nut and stop smoking as these habits cause oral cancer.
Avoid drinking carbonated drinks like coke, Pepsi frequently, as they cause erosion of teeth enamel.
Don't take too much spicy foods.
Brushing habits and oral health:
Brush your teeth twice daily.
Replace your tooth brush every three months
Rinse your mouth after each and every meal.
After brushing, use a dental floss to clean the inter dental spaces.
Use of a tooth pick in between the teeth to remove the food debris can damage the health of the gums.
Oral health Monitoring:
Visit your dentist once in six months.
Visit your dentist if you have any of the following symptoms
Red, Swollen, Bleeding Gums
Bad Breath
sensitivity in the gums
Sensitivity of the tooth to hot or cold drinks
Discoloration of the tooth
Mobile tooth
Black spots that are seen on the tooth surface or in between two teeth are known as decay of the tooth or dental caries
If Dental caries is diagnosed in its initial stage, it can be removed and restored with tooth colored material. If you ignore, it can lead to loss of your tooth.
